About the internship
This internship will provide a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in supporting gender equality programmes and women’s rights initiatives. You will contribute to the management and coordination of key projects while learning about the Women, Peace, and Security agenda, sexual and reproductive rights, and feminist movement building. As an intern with our Rwanda office, you will play a vital role in supporting various programme and data management activities, including data collection, monitoring, and reporting.
Throughout your internship, you will work closely with the Country Director and Programme Manager as well as Program Officers, gaining valuable insight into how international development programmes are designed, implemented, and evaluated. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to make a meaningful contribution to the empowerment of women in conflict-affected areas and gain experience in the field of women’s rights and peace-building.

Core tasks:
- In coordination with Country Director, contribute to management and coordination of updates to the output and outcome trackers for the Rwanda Office for all projects.
- Help ensure yearly trackers are set up and circulated to all Programme Staff and provide overviews and training on how the tracker works.
- Assist in tracking activity evaluation data from Kvinna till Kvinna activities.
- Support Programme Officers to prepare, circulate and consolidate indicator tracking tools for all POs on an annual basis.
- Support coordination of annual Kvinna till Kvinna reporting on reach and themes.
- Attend monitoring trips as needed, assisting Programme Officers in carrying out the monitoring work.
- Collect and write success stories and take photos of rights holders and Partners’ programmes for use by Kvinna till Kvinna Rwanda, Stockholm and Donors.
Essential requirements:
- Knowledge and interest of Rwanda
- Knowledge of gender, peace and security issues
- Good organisational skills
- Proven analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong writing skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Cooperative attitude, communicative with strong interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
We prefer that you are looking for an internship as part of your current studies where you receive reimbursement from state funds or other government funds. If this does not apply to you, you need to mention how your internship is funded.
Terms & Conditions and what we offer:
The internship will run for the duration of the autumn term 2025, with the start and end dates being negotiable. As a full-time intern, you will be expected to commit to 37,5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, working closely with our team on various tasks and responsibilities.
We'll ensure the necessary insurance coverage, ideally through a program associated with the internship. In other cases, we'll discuss feasible alternatives.
