Programme Internship Western Balkans at Kvinna till Kvinna, Stockholm
Are you interested in learning more about issues related to women’s rights in the Western Balkans? Do you want to contribute to Kvinna till Kvinna’s work while gaining experience of development aid programming? Then this is the internship for you.
About the internship
As an intern in the Western Balkan team, you will contribute to our work by supporting us in in programmes focusing on thematic areas such as Women, Peace and Security, countering gender-based violence and women’s economic empowerment. You will contribute to data collection, research and context analyses, as well as supporting daily programme administration.
Through this internship you will gain experience from planning, implementation and monitoring of development aid programmes targeting women’s rights, and gain insight into how development aid channelled through civil society works in practice.
You will be supported by/will report to the Western Balkan team, and work with colleagues based in Stockholm and Kvinna till Kvinna country offices in the Western Balkans.

Key tasks will include:
Monitoring issues related to women’s rights, the Women, Peace and Security Agenda, democracy, and relevant political developments in the Western Balkan;
Participate in the development of funding applications and results reports;
Perform desk studies linked to current or future programme activities in the Western Balkans;
Support advocacy activities and institutional fundraising, for example through mapping advocacy targets and potential donors;
Support ongoing programme implementation and provide support in daily programme activities, including some administrative support;
Participate in relevant departmental meetings and internal training;
Perform other tasks for the Grant Management Unit and support other units and departments in Kvinna till Kvinna.
About you
You are committed to gender equality and women’s rights, with a demonstratable interest in the thematic area. You are analytical, responsive cooperative and self-driven with a good organisational ability.
Requirements:
Knowledge of gender, peace and security issues;
Documented interest in women’s rights (through academia, professional experiences, voluntary engagement or other);
Documented interest in development aid or international cooperation (through academia, professional experiences, voluntary engagement or other);
Interest in the EU;
Interest in the Western Balkans;
You have completed or are currently completing at minimum a Bachelor degree;
Very good language skills in English, and in particular advanced writing skills;
Good IT skills (Microsoft Office and internet platforms).
Meriting:
Documented interest or previous experience working with the Western Balkans
Knowledge on EU Accession processes and general familiarity with EU institutions
Civil society engagement, especially focusing on women’s rights, peace, human rights development aid or politics
This internship is primarily intended for current students or persons who have recently completed their studies. We prefer that you are looking for an internship either as part of your current studies where you receive reimbursement from CSN or other government funds, or as part of other programmes supporting internships (for instance Arbetsförmedlingen). If this does not apply to you, you need to mention how your internship is funded.

You will also be able to participate in both internal and external seminars/lectures that may be of interest.
The internship is unpaid and covers full-time (37,5 hrs/week) for approx. 20 weeks in the 2026 autumn semester. Start and end date are negotiable.
