Kvinna till Kvinna is seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Officer for Ukraine to join our team in the office in Lviv, where we are currently reestablishing local presence. Kvinna till Kvinna has legacy and history of work in Ukraine since 2014 with different programmes, initiatives and support to local partners.
Kvinna till Kvinna is a non-profit organisation that promotes women's rights in conflict-affected regions. We partner with local women's organisations to empower women and girls and strengthen their role in peacebuilding and sustainable development. Our work spans across multiple regions, ensuring women have the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive.
The Finance Officer for Ukraine will cover the work of Kvinna till Kvinna in Ukraine and will be a part of the wider region of the South Caucasus and Eastern Europe, with Lviv being the main working place.
The Finance Officer for Ukraine will be responsible for financial set up and implementation of our programmes, financial management of the office, grant and audit management and support to efficient operation of Kvinna till Kvinna programmes in Ukraine. The role includes support to Kvinna till Kvinna staff and partner organisations in implementation of the programmes.
The Finance Officer for Ukraine work closely with the Regional Director and the Regional Controller, Kvinna till Kvinna finance and programme staff in the region and with the organisational Finance Unit of Kvinna till Kvinna (based in Sweden).
This is a full-time position on a national contract based in Lviv, Ukraine.
Responsibilities and duties
As the Finance Officer for Ukraine, you will be a part of the South Caucasus and Eastern Europe team and work under the guidance of, and report to Regional Director. Operationally, Finance Officer will work closely with Regional Controller and other Finance colleagues.
You will be responsible for:
Financial set up and implementation: Ensure the implementation of existing financial management routines and the introduction of new routines for running the office and country programme, in line with Kvinna till Kvinna and donors’ guidelines and procedures and local legislation.
Financial management: Manage payments, bookkeeping, payroll, monthly financial reports to Head Office and declarations to Ukrainian Authorities. Ensure and develop internal control systems and make sure that financial routines are functional and efficient, including making sure the anti-corruption policy and handbook is implemented internally and externally.
Grant management: Working together with the Grants Manager and Regional Controller for the South Caucasus and Eastern Europe, conduct the financial assessment of new and potential partner organisations based on Kvinna till Kvinna tools and procedures. Follow-up on existing financial assessments of partner organisations, disbursement confirmations, financial reports, audit reports and audited financial statements, and ensure that they are managed according to grants agreements and the requirements of Kvinna till Kvinna and its donors. Contribute to the strengthening of the financial management capacity of partner organisations and support the Kvinna till Kvinna Office in Lviv on financial matters.
Audit management: Procure and manage audit services in accordance with Kvinna till Kvinna and donors’ procurement policy and procedures and Ukrainian law. Submit reports in respect of management and statutory audits and submit audited financial statements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or similar, with a focus on financial management and accounting;
Minimum three years of relevant work experience in financial management, bookkeeping, payroll, grant and audit management within international development cooperation or similar fields;
Proven experience of identifying capacity building needs and providing capacity strengthening to local NGOs on issues related to finance management;
Excellent communications skills and ability to cooperate with a range of partners and stakeholders;
In-depth knowledge of Ukrainian tax legislation;
Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook);
Experience of using digital accountancy software;
Excellent knowledge of English and Ukrainian;
Knowledge and experience of anti-corruption strategies and measures;
Ability to organise and prioritise own workload and work flexibly and pro-actively and use own initiative.
Merits

Terms and conditions of employment
This is a local position, open for Ukrainian nationals or to people with valid work and residence permit in Ukraine.
The position as the Finance Officer for Ukraine is a one-year position (renewable) on a full-time basis, with 3 months initial probation period. Start of employment as soon as possible. The position of Finance Officer for Ukraine will be based in the office of Kvinna till Kvinna in Lviv, with travel within the South Caucasus and Eastern Europe and to Sweden.
